Deer Isle Bridge
Deer Isle is a magical island connected to the mainland by the Deer Isle Bridge, a 75 year old suspension bridge spanning Eggemoggin Reach. What began as a one-week visit in 2006, has evolved into a yearly migration. I return each year to live the life of this unspoiled island, visit with friends and explore the natural beauty of the land and sea.
Deer Isle is home to a working fleet of more than 300 lobster boats. It is also known for its granite quarries. Surrounded by many smaller islands, it is a perfect starting point for kayaking and island hopping.
This island truly exemplifies the slogan for the state of Maine: "The way life should be."
